Safety Manager

·         Instrumental in driver hiring process via personal interviews as well as conducting driver road tests.

·         I was named Wal-Mart Safety Manager of the Year for 2000.

·         Wrote, initiated, and conducted Wal-Mart LCV training course as required by FMCR rule for Long Combination Vehicle Drivers.

·         Received Wal-Mart Safety Office of the Year award for 2005.

·         Trainer for the Qualcom QHOS electronic on-board logging program, training the other Safety Managers in the western US as well as their respective staff.  I orchestrated the installation of the Qualcom units in the tractors and conducted the training program of all of the drivers at my location.

·         I developed close relationships between Wal-Mart and State Highway Patrol and local law enforcement

·         Responsible for all DOT and OSHA compliance at my location and have extensive knowledge of FMCSR and State regulations.

·         Responsible for conducting accident investigations and have been very successful in limiting company exposure in litigation cases through depositions and courtroom testimony as an expert witness.

·         Conducted all required training of drivers, managers, and hourly personnel (mechanics & office) including Orientation, Defensive Driving, Haz-Mat, and Injury Prevention classes, etc.

·         I am a Certified Breath Alcohol Technician and conducted all monthly Random and all Post-Accident tests when required.

·         I assisted in the development, placement, and enforcement of policies which lead to the excellent safety record that the Wal-Mart Private Fleet enjoys today.  Many times, Wal-Mart Transportation has received the American Trucking Association award for the safest fleet in the nation for fleets traveling more than 100 million miles per year.

·         I conducted Truck Driving Championships at the Local, Regional, and National Level for Wal-Mart.

·         I assisted in the set up and oversaw the Pre-Trip Inspection at the Utah Professional Driving championships in 2006 and 2007.

·         I have taken winning drivers to the American Trucking Association National Truck Driving Championships in Tampa, FL, Columbus, OH, Salt Lake City, UT, and New Orleans, LA
